At PRC, we understand that adding a canine member to your family is a big step. Through our adoption process, we hope to ensure that the dog you bring home will be the best match for your family.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, first send an email inquiry to info@projectrescuechicago.org. This is the quickest and easiest way to contact us. A PRC representative will get back to you within 24 hours.

If the dog you are interested in is still available, the next step is to fill out our online adoption application, or download the PDF version.

Once we have received your application, we will call or email you to set up a time for you to meet the dog!

The next step is for a PRC representative to bring the dog by for a home visit. Everyone in the household should be present during this stage.

Once you have been approved for a dog, you must sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee before the dog can become a permanent member of your family. At the time of adoption, you will receive all of the dog’s previous medical records and rabies tag.
